Alice Gedamu
My work as a systemic practitioner draws on 15 years of building organizations, navigating crisis and uncertainty, and learning how systems work from the inside and how they can be reimagined differently.
I've built organizations, navigated failure, and learned to think in systems. My professional path includes co-founding CRCLR GmbH, a think-and-do tank for the circular economy, and TRNSFRM eG, a sustainable building cooperative. I trained as a systemic coach at Artop Berlin in 2020, and before that spent years with ALBA Group implementing innovative recycling solutions across Europe and the Middle East. Since 2020, I've been working independently as a coach in Berlin, serving over 80 clients. Today I am enrolled at SIA Institute training in systemic consulting and therapy.
The following projects inform my work as a systemic practitioner. I participated in Timo Galbenis Kiesel's year-long program on critical whiteness. I had the privilege to perform as part of Lola Arias' MOTHER TONGUE at Maxim Gorki Theatre. I'm part of the advocacy group Nodoption, which campaigns for the rights of LGBTQ+ parents. Together with Kübra Gümüşay's Imagination Agency, I explore techniques to train the muscle of imagination for progressive visions of the future.
Everything I've done informs how I work: the sustainability lens, the entrepreneurial experience, the systems thinking, and the personal journey of figuring it out along the way.
Kübra Gümüşay founded the IMAGINATION AGENCY and explores techniques to train the muscle of imagination. What do desirable futures feel like, taste like, look like? How do they work? How can they become reality? We aim to cultivate and develop knowledge about desirable and just futures — and ultimately: to practice alternatives.

MOTHER TONGUE by Lola Arias, Gorki Theater. In 2022, the right to decide when and how to become a mother is still contested. The discourse is polarizing. Motherhood is political. MOTHER TONGUE is an encyclopedia of reproduction in the twenty-first century. The performers explore the past and discuss the future.

NODOPTION is a Germany-wide initiative of LGBTQ+ families working to end the discrimination against LGBTQ+ families in Germany through advocacy, community building, and strategic litigation. To achieve this, NODOPTION collaborates with lawyer Lucy Chebout, the Center for Intersectional Justice, the Society for Civil Liberties (Gesellschaft für Freiheitsrechte), and AllOut.

TRNSFRM is a housing cooperative. TRNSFRM builds as circularly as possible, as affordably as possible, for projects oriented toward the common good. TRNSFRM develops construction projects for social, cultural, and ecological initiatives. In doing so, TRNSFRM supports project initiatives that need residential or commercial spaces and takes on the role of developer for planning and construction.

CRCLR was Berlin's first center for circular economy. In 2015, CRCLR secured a site in Neukölln through a heritable building right from the Edith Maryon Foundation for 99 years. During its time, CRCLR was a think-and-do tank, a place of encounter and collaboration around the circular economy. It's a way of thinking and acting: circular instead of linear, networked instead of siloed. CRCLR is now operated by Impact Hub at the same location.
